Mlah drew something to my attention in the comments to my last post. Phatnoise. The most awesomething on the planet. A Hard drive based trunk mounted MP3 player that behaves just like a CD changer. Any of you that know me personally know I'm big in to my car audio. Alas, this product is not compatible with Alpine decks... yet. SO I wrote to Phatnoise tech support. Here it is:
"I have money in my pocket that I want to give to you so desperately that I ache inside. I worship the idea of having a Phatbox in my trunk... I dream of it. All I ever talk about is how awesome it would be to have one in my car. Sadly you don't make one that works with Alpine decks... my guess is that it's either in the works or Alpine doesn't want to let you guys market a product using AInet control. As it stands I cry myself to sleep because the pure love that I have for your product will remain unrequited. I just wanted to let you know.
